Various Artists - Adios Amigo： A Tribute to Arthur Alexander (1994)

This last-century compilation has many sweet treats. Alexander was a prolific and skilled songwriter whose "Anna" and "You Better Move On" may be familiar to you if you're up on your first-wave British Invasion top brass.

The roster here is filled with power players too: Elvis Costello, Roger McGuinn, Robert Plant, Graham Parker, Nick Lowe just to skim the cream. These and more all get a chance to take a swing at their favorite Alexander songs, and, by and large, this collection hits the target way more than it misses.

I say "compilation," but these tracks were recorded especially for this disc, further indication of the esteem Arthur Alexander is granted by his peers in the craft of songwriting.

Giving it a spin for the first time in a while and it is working for me.
